Organic Traditions Premium Matcha Tea
Organic Traditions Premium Matcha Tea - For centuries, Japanese Matcha has been the most revered green tea in the world. Traditionally used in the daily diet, in medicinal preparations and for ceremonial purposes, it is said that Zen buddist monks consumed Matcha for facilitating meditation, health and longevity. There are many grades of Matcha. Lower, less expensive grades pulverize the stems with the leaves, creating a bitter taste and a yellow-green color.
Some Matcha is prepared using hot pressure processing that destroys the delicate compounds, thereby creating oxidation. Organic Traditions Premium Matcha is ideal for everyday use, as well as all culinary and smoothie applications. Our Organic Premium Matcha comes from Tencha leaves collected after the spring harvest offering a full bodied earthy green tea taste without the astringency or bitterness associated with late harvest Matchas.

Place ½ -1 teaspoon of Organic Traditions Premium Matcha in a large, wide mouthed bowl. Heat up water between 65-85°C (or 150-185°F). Boiling water should never be used as it degrades the delicate compounds of the tea. If you do not have a thermometer, test with your finger until the water is warm but not hot. Pour a small amount of water into the bowl (roughly 2 ounces) and using a small stainless steel whisk, a traditional bamboo whisk or a spoon, quickly whisk the contents until all the powder is incorporated into the water creating a frothy green paste. Add more water. Depending on how strong and concentrated you would like your tea to be, add anywhere from 2-6 ounces. Enjoy as is or add a teaspoon of Organic Traditions Yacon Syrup or Organic Traditions Coconut Palm Sugar to sweeten. Add 1-2 tsp. of Natural Traditions Rice Bran and Germ Powder for a creamy, non dairy version. While Organic Traditions Premium Matcha can be consumed as a daily tea, Matcha can also be used to make exotic hot and cold beverages, raw superfood desserts, ice cream, dressings and can be added to any other recipe. Matcha makes a wonderful addition to any superfood smoothie. Add ½ -1 teaspoon of Organic Traditions Premium Matcha to your favorite smoothie recipe and enjoy. Also add ½ -1 teaspoon of Matcha to your cold water bottle and shake vigorously for a refreshing, energizing drink.
